Stephane Ashpool Talks to Dazed & Confused About the Pigalle Basketball Court Project

Following the unveiling of Pigalle‘s new basketball store, court and collection, Dazed had the opportunity to sit down with Stephane Ashpool and talk about how the concept came about. It is no secret that Ashpool has a love for the game and he decided to give back to the kids by building the Pigalle basketball court, which is housed by the new store. Describing the process, he goes on to say, “Seven years ago, we fought with the government to build a basketball court in the Pigalle area instead of a car park. It’s in the middle of Pigalle area between two buildings – two years after, Nike helped us to refit the court together with LeBron James.” The court was even painted by the neighbors and the team of local kids Ashpool coaches every week to make it truly a court for them. Finally, he then went on about the inspiration for his latest collection and how he merges his affinity for basketball and fashion.
