Now in its fifth year, POW WOW continues to push the envelope of contemporary art, bringing together international street artists with local creatives for a week-long event in Hawaii. Extending itself from gallery shows, lecture series, mural projects to workshops, POW WOW 2014 will take place from February 8 to the 15 in the Kaka’ako district of Honolulu. The diverse lineup sees the likes of Aaron De La Cruz, Cope2, Dabs Myla, INSA, Norm, Meggs, Nychos, Roid and Vhils take on a number of walls and canvases, while art and media lectures featuring Martha Cooper, Lady Aiko, Anna Waclawek and Wayne White will provide insightful discussions elsewhere. Fresh Cafe and Loft in Space are also set to host a number of exhibitions with the likes of 1xRun and Pangea Seed Print, while the Honolulu Art Museum will hold a screening of The Legend of Cool Disco Dan followed by a Q&A with director Roger Gastman. Concluding with a final block party on February 15 and a traditional luau event on February 17, this year’s POW WOW is set to be the best one yet. Head here for the full itinerary for POW WOW 2014.
