In this episode of Made by Music, L.A.-based production team House of Guvera catches up with illustrious photographer and director Estevan Oriol. A man synonymous with Los Angeles street culture, Oriol’s job as a tour manager in the ’90s and ’00s for Cypress Hill and House of Pain led him to capture striking imagery of the legendary hip-hop groups, which would be the launch pad for his career as a celebrity photographer shooting the likes of Kim Kardashian, Eminem, Xzibit, Adrien Brody and Blink 192. An ardent social commentator of tattoo, lowrider and L.A. gang culture, Oriol’s work has been featured in numerous publications, and yet he still finds time to run his clothing label the Joker Brand. Here, Oriol speaks on his close relationship with music, and how the artform has paved his way and taken him across the globe.
