Arcade Fire Perform on SNL & Give Concert Special
Saturday Night Live kicked off its 39th season with host Tina Fey and musical guests Arcade Fire

Saturday Night Live kicked off its 39th season with host Tina Fey and musical guests Arcade Fire last night. The Canadian band put this opportunity to good as they offered up a live rendition of their lead single “Reflektor” as well as debuting another Reflektor cut called “Afterlife.” In addition, the Canadian band’s Colin Stetson and Owen Pallett appeared in a sketch called “Arcade Fire Or New Featured Player” where host Tina Fey had to distinguish band members from new cast members.
As if this wasn’t enough already, the group offered a half-hour called Here Comes The Night Time right after SNL. The special offered first impressions from three new tracks “Here Comes The Night Time,” “We Exist,” and “Normal Person.” James Franco, Rainn Wilson, Bono, Ben Stiller, Michael Cera, Bill Hader, Zach Galifianakis, Eric Wareheim, and Aziz Ansari made cameo appearances. A video stream from the concert has yet to emerge. Arcade Fire’s James Murphy-produced double LP Reflektor arrives October 29 via Merge.
