Industrial designer Mugi Yamamoto has given the humble printer a revolutionary redesign with his Stack printer concept. Created for his diploma project, Yamamoto’s Stack printer does away with the paper tray which is typically the bulkiest part of a printer. Instead, the printer is designed to rest on a stack of papers from which it pulls paper as needed, making reloading easier and less frequent. More than just a rendering, the Stack printer concept is a fully functioning printer and Yamamoto is currently seeking companies to help him make the Stack a commercial reality.
