One of the faster artists to rise this summer was Jaymes Young. The Cali-based artist only started releasing music under the moniker two months ago, but quickly caught the attention of the blogosphere with his cover of Haddaway’s “What Is Love.” Since then, his fan base has only grown. Today sees the release of his debut mixtape Dark Star, which is sure to keep his buzz’s snowball effect rolling. Young utilizes elements of R&B and dark pop to transport listeners to another world.
