Not content with simply re-tooling midsoles, Nike is upgrading some iconic uppers, too, with the release of a Quickstrike “Tape Pack.” Made up of some of the most beloved models in the Air Max series, the pack revamps silhouettes like the Air Max 97 with Nike’s “Tape” construction, all while keeping the overall look and feel of the original. The kicks — besides showcasing the new technology — feature a familiar combination of lightweight mesh and leather in metallic silver, along with red accents, full-length Air Max cushioning and black outsoles. Look for the new-look Nike Air Max 97 PRM Tape QS Metallic Silver/Varsity Red to release at retailers like Berlin’s Overkill on August 16.
