FRANCISCO VAN BETHUM recently showcased his new collection under his namesake imprint at Amsterdam Fashion Weeks. Titled “Marlin,” the collection culled its name from inspirations in scuba diving and the underwater world — using aquatic hues like blue or sea-coral purple over a blend of traditional and technically-forward fabrics. The “Marlin” collection reinterprets scuba diving attire and timeless menswear silhouettes with heavy use of taped seams and plastic zippers. Allowing wearers to show their own interpretation of style, overcoats feature additional buttons so that the sleeves can be adjusted, while shirts can be worn in a number of ways when paired with the likes of oversized pleated trousers.
