Cambridge, Massachusetts’ Concepts was a pioneering Nike SB account back in 2002, with the shop’s longstanding dedication to street styles being recognized by the Swoosh and other leading companies like Stüssy, Maharishi and Zoo York. If skateboarding and other action sports continue to grow within pop culture, all we’ll have left to celebrate are their roots, at which Concepts is firmly planted. At the present juncture Concepts is gearing to release its own brand, led by Rhett Richardson – brand director and designer. From the tasteful selection of goods Richardson carries on his person, varying from classic Thom Browne shades to a subtly cool Boston Celtics New Era hat, it looks as if the Concepts brand is definitely in great hands. With some sample pieces featured in Richardson’s edition of Essentials above, look for the full line from Concepts to drop this fall.
