Jay-Z is known for inviting a mixed group of producers — established and up-and-coming. WonderGurl belongs to the illustrious circle of artists that provided beats for Magna Carta… Holy Grail. In a Skype conversation with MTV News, the 16-year-old beatsmith, real name Ebony Oshunrinde, discussed creating the “Crown” instrumental. After crafting the beat for Travi$ Scott‘s “Uptown” off of his Owl Pharoah project, she reminisces sampling Sizzla’s “Solid As a Rock” and having initially Travi$ and Pusha T in mind for the cut.
