What started from James Edson and his London friends’ sense of humor has taken the worlds of high fashion and skateboarding by storm. Of course, we’re referring to Palace Skateboards, and everyone from California hesh dogs to Caribbean songbirds are in hot pursuit of their goods. The more public-facing entity of Palace – the Palace Wayward Boys Choir (PWBC) – is a collective of skateboarders and artists that produce videos, paintings, and of course, skateboarding in their own unique, vintage style. In addition to being a founding member of this burgeoning collective, Edson is also a founder of Wayward Gallery, where the established aesthetic is further expanded to host a range of diverse artists from around London. Here we take a look at James Edson’s Essentials and find that despite all of his success, the man hasn’t much changed the tools that got him to where he is today.
