What started as a poem by Abeel Meeropol, “Strange Fruit” has deservedly stood the test of time. After being made famous by legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday, the song has seen its fair share of covers throughout the years. The track recently surfaced again in the form of a sample on Kanye West‘s latest album Yeezus, making it the perfect time for another artist to try their hand at the classic record. Stepping up to the plate is Cleveland-by-way-of-Cameroon songstress Lorine Chia.
