Boston’s Concepts is honoring a local landmark — the Statue of John Harvard, also known as the Statue of Three Lies — with its upcoming ASICS collaboration. Inspired by the statue’s shoe, and its color in particular, Concepts utilized a plush, premium green suede for the Gel Lyte III‘s upper. Over time statue’s shoe has become a good luck charm and visitors have taken to rubbing the shoe causing the toe box to change color — an attribute that has been mirrored on the collaborative shoe with a gold perforated toe box. The top-notch upper sits atop a speckled grey midsole. The Concepts x ASICS Gel Lyte III will be reaching Concepts soon with other retailers to follow.
