Salvatore Ferragamo marries the idea of vintage sportsmen with contemporary menswear in his collection for Spring/Summer 2014, recently presenting his combinations in Milan. Under the creative direction of Massimiliano Giornetti, the range strives to recreate basketball and soccer uniforms within its offerings, evidenced by unique numbering across varsity-inspired jackets, generously tailored shorts, and sweaters. Simultaneously, Salvatore Ferragamo’s formal-leaning legacy is preserved in blazers, trench coats and trousers. All of these pieces are executed in fine, premium cotton, silk and blended fabrics, making for an altogether smart collection from the Italian brand.
