The brainchild of the former creative director for Giuliano Fujiwara, Pine by Masata is the newest label under Masataka Matsumura. The proverbial apple, in this case, has fallen relatively far from the tree, with Pine by Masata drawing influence from game hunting, outdoors and prepster aesthetics more so than the runways of Europe. In Spring/Summer 2013 we find lightweight hunting-inspired jackets, light chambray shirts, cropped trousers and swim-cut shorts – all delivered in pale blue, green and caramel hues faithful to their influence. The collection, which also includes a line of sunglasses and accessories, evidences Matsumura’s eye for distinction and detail. The Pine by Masata Spring/Summer 2013 collection will be exclusively showcased at Touba London‘s The Showroom Next Door Paris presentation.
