All-around designer and creative Bradford Shellhammer gives us a look at his Essentials. The co-founder and chief creative officer of Fab, Inc., he leads a very diverse creative career with many streams including writing, decorating, art sourcing, illustration, blogging, styling, and photography and fills many business-inclined roles such as consulting and marketing. First thing’s first – after a quick glance over his Essentials, it quickly becomes apparent that Bradford is a huge fan of Prada, specifically their Saffiano leather products. In addition to his cascading assortment of bags, his collection extends to his notebook, key chain and iPhone cover. His creative tools include mechanical pencils from Lamy and a Karim Rashid-designed Slice Precision Cutter. For organization, he opts to keep things pen-and-paper for organization by relying on his Behance Pad, a notepad designed around the Action Method productivity system. Understandably a very busy man, he’s never without his business cards (which double as $50 Fab gift cards), his red eye-concealing D&G shades, his Thank You cards and his go-to fruit, vitamin C-rich tangerines. Without a doubt a balanced blend of luxury and utility, Shellhammer’s Essentials reflect the lifestyle of a busy creative, but as his assortment of buttons and his POP phone handset would attest, one that enjoys everything about it.
