Having just released the highly successful album The 20/20 Experience, Justin Timberlake returns to film endeavors with his latest, and possibly most demanding project called Spinning Gold, which will star him as 1970s music industry giant Neil Bogart. Bogart is the founder of Casablanca/Boardwalk Records and helped blossom the careers of musical acts such as Curtis Mayfield, KISS, the Village People, Donna Summer, and Joan Jett. The film will be co-produced by Timberlake and Laurence Mark of Dreamgirls and Jerry Maguire fame. Bogart’s son, Timothy Scott Bogart, wrote the script a while ago and had been awaiting funding for the film that was recently supplied by Foresight Unlimited. Foresight Unlimited CEO Mark Damon commented on the movie: “Spinning Gold is about a larger-than-life man who achieved so much in his short life and helped define a generation… The film is going to be a wild, music extravaganza that will light up the screen.” Production for the film is scheduled to start in early 2014, which means the film will most likely be released in 2015 or later.
