GANT and its GANT Rugger line have long been a strong representative of classic American style. The diffusion line reinforces this case through a series of intelligent and well-conceived looks for their pre-Fall 2013 collection, titled “The American Colony.” A central theme around the collection is that of a World War II convey of troops who disappeared into Algeria and were deemed “The American Colony,” but subsequently came home in a hybrid style of classic American uniforms with North African fabrics and civilian wear from the region. With that in mind, the outcome is on point with several well-fitted jackets together with suitable integration of patterned fabric for a nice juxtaposition of classic military dress and more fashion-forward highlights.
