On tap for a release later this year is the long-awaited film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s award-winning science fiction epic Ender’s Game. Directed by Gavin Hood and starring the likes of Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley, the film sees Asa Butterfield in the title role of Andrew “Ender” Wiggin – a child prodigy who is sent to an advanced military school in preparation for an impending invasion by the alien Forics. Said to be a fusion of sorts that contains plot points from both the original novel and 1999′s parallel story Ender’s Shadow, the film will see the shy but brilliant Ender distinguish himself under Colonel Graff’s (Ford) tutelage at the Battle School before graduating to Command School and training under Mazer Rackham (Kingsley) to be the next leader of the International Fleet. Ender’s Game is slated for a November 1, 2013 debut.
