Originally established in 2009, Best Made Co. founder Peter Buchanan-Smith set out with a seemingly simple task in mind – to create the best axe known to man; a tool meant for both survival and productivity with a design inspired by his time working on cattle farms and portaging Northern Canada’s innumerable lakes. Since then (starting in the fall of 2010) the brand has taken its mission one step further, now introducing a brand new product each and every week – a product that then becomes a fixture of its ever-growing catalog because, as is Best Made’s ethos, “We do it once, and we do it right.” The latest addition to the New York-based stable is the Front Loading Toolbox. Handmade in the United States using tried-and-true methods and machinery, the powder-coated steel toolbox appears in bold “Famous Red” and skips the menial task of unlatching and opening the lid before removing the design’s indispensable top tray – instead, all tools can be accessed via a front loading door. The breakthrough design also sees the addition of heavy duty drop handles at the sides for strength and durability. Measuring 20” x 8.5” x 9.5”, the Best Made Co. Front Loading Toolbox will likely last you a lifetime and is available online now for $89 USD.
