Today isn’t the brightest day for OutKast as both members are facing misfortune. Big Boi injured his knee during his performance yesterday. After a visit to the hospital, tour mate Killer Mike snapped the above picture of him on crutches. However, it does not appear that this is a severe injury and he will recover in whole from it. Andre 3000 must cope with a more permanent hardship. His mother, Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, passed away yesterday, just one day after her son’s 38th birthday. Benjamin-Hodo founded and ran The Starlight Camp for underprivileged children out of her husband Pastor Robert Hodo’s church, New Morning Light Missionary Baptist, in Conley, Georgia. Click here to hear her views on motherhood and more. When asked what she thinks about her son: “He’s so wonderful and beautiful in all his ways. And he’s the best son that anyone can have.”
