Damir Doma Discusses "The Stair" at Dover Street Market

The concept of the stair, as the average human considers it, as a mode for reaching another structural level has been re-imagined by Damir Doma at the Dover Street Market. Doma has manipulated the functionality of the stair to explore a more utilitarian approach to space within the storefront as well as much more informal shopping experience. The installation was implemented for several purposes, such as a display for select pieces while incorporating an area for the remainder of the collection to be arranged, among other things. This is just one more creative venture for designer Damir Doma as the retailer continues to grow and more lines are added to supplement its already stellar reputation. In this video Doma discusses his relationship with Dover Street Market, the various labels that have stemmed from his initial line, and the influence streetwear has had on his works.
