While the 890v3 stands out with a bold, whimsical design in departure from the usual New Balance subtlety – mesh and leather appear on the upper with yellow, red and dotted green accents – the 990 sees a more subtle design choice, employing plum suede and mesh for the upper and a speckled ENCAP heel for added comfort in stride.
