Two musical heavyweights have come together in a deal that could ultimately see some unexpected artistic collaborations. Super-producer Diplo, who has done work for a wide range of artists from Justin Bieber to Wale, to Das Racist and Dr. Luke, whose own credits include production for Weezer, Ke$ha and Three 6 Mafia, just to name a few, have signed a joint publishing deal. The deal merges the two producers’ publishing companies, Diplo’s Mad Decent and Luke’s Prescription Songs, allowing them to oversee each respective roster together. Dr. Luke, a “huge fan of Diplo and Mad Decent,” says he is looking forward to the two camps “collaborating and making music together.” Mad Decent has seen quite a bit of popularity in these past months, with Baauer‘s “Harlem Shake” dominating both charts and airwaves and TNGHT‘s “Higher Ground” being picked up for an adidas campaign. Congratulations to both artists on their new venture and we also look forward to the music that will come out of this.
