Taking inspiration from the opening of an umbrella itself, Scottish design atelier Method Studio has created a beautiful oak umbrella stand for London Undercover. Handmade in Linlithgow, Scotland using traditional woodworking techniques, the design features 12 individual pieces of oak that are held in place using a web of hand-threaded elastic. Varnished and polished to allow for easy cleaning and to prevent water damage from the umbrellas themselves, the stand’s unique design includes a specially-created waterproof ring and drip tray which – when coupled with the splayed construction of the stand – allows for air to circulate and water to evaporate. Standing 70.5 cm high and measuring 36.5 cm wide, the Method Studio x London Undercover Oak Umbrella Stand is now available online for £240 GBP (approximately $358 USD).
