Hence, his latest offering nods at the sort of heat the genre-less DJ carries. As a testament to the DJ’s early rave tenures, the track pays homage to Jen Mahlstedt’s party anthem “Loops & Tings” from 1993, putting a contemporary bass rewrite to the otherwise raunchy trance track. Toying with retro bleeps, half-time composition and Southern hip-hop drum patterns, the edit starts on a cartoon-like tempo before delving into syrupy club-friendly territories. Melding 90’s club euphoria with the know-how of trap and EDM , this is “Loops & Ting, the Trillwave version.
