NEPENTHES 2013 Spring/Summer "Pattern Chasing" Lookbook

Next-level layering and pattern combinations feature this season for Japanese menswear mecca NEPENTHES. With the release of its “Pattern Chasing” lookbook for Spring/Summer 2013, the retailer offers a detailed glimpse at its current and forthcoming wares – a mix of labels like Engineered Garments, Needles, SOUTH 2 WEST 8 and Sonic Lab. As always, looks for the coming season are grounded in classic Americana and traditional menswear staples, but with contemporary Japanese updates and wild pops of color and pattern. Florals, animal prints, plaids, polka dots and nautical stripes all take center stage on an array of lightweight spring jackets — anoraks, windbreakers, fishing parkas and denim jackets — along with elongated shirting, shorts and cardigans. The clothes aren’t for everyone, certainly, but in measured doses should provide nice injections of summer style into one’s wardrobe.
