Japanese designers and labels have long held an affinity for American inspirations and Western influences. Perhaps it has been one culture’s longstanding indifference towards their own symbols that has stemmed such an adoption, or perhaps it is merely one culture’s fascination with that of another — or a little of both. Taking an overt focus on the American flag, SOPHNET. today debuts a new “Stars & Stripes” Crew Neck Knit sweater that takes obvious influence from the stars and stripes of the land of the free. Offered in three colorways, the crewneck sweaters feature oversized striping and stars across the entirety with a various amalgam of red, white and blue hues. Pricing is set at ¥22,050 JPY (approximately $236 USD) each.
