In the blink of an eye, it’s been six years since Brodinski released “Bad Runner,” the techno anthem that flooded the blogsphere ahead of its release on Metal Groove. The kickstarter to his now illustrious career, the track gained support from the stewards of the French electro revolution like Erol Alkan, A Trak, Busy P and Justice. While the sounds of bleeding, synth-led electro moved onto diffused sub genres, Brodinski’s music also expanded in both his production and DJ sets. With Paris’s club scene pivoting towards more bass orientated genres, Brodinski presented European Introduction to Moombahton, a eclectic mix of global bass music that stemmed from Latin/island influences — reggaeton, cumbia and dancehall. In 2011, the Brodinski announced the start of his label Bromance Records, a powerhouse imprint that paid tribute to his affinity for techno and progressive club stompers, in addition to his longtime love affair with hip-hop. Home to the likes of Club Cheval, Gesaffelstein and Louisah!!!, Bromance continues to churn out howitzers Paris’ latest club craze. Brodinski’s Music Essentials intuitively reflects his influences, with an album from Project Pat looking to his affinity for Southern rap, alongside his collaborative effort with Theophilus London on Bromance #11. Elsewhere, a ski mask nods to his recent social media-leg slogan “SKI MASK AND DA GLOCK. PARIS TO BERLIN,” while a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona 18 karat gold watch only proves the fruits of his laurels.
