The ever-popular Mini Cooper gets a new spin on its tale, with BMW announcing the John Cooper Works Concept for 2014. John Cooper Works, the specialized tuning division of Mini (think along the lines of BMW’s M GmbH stuff), has accentuated the racing heritage of the pint-sized sports car. Mum seems the word about what’s under the hood, but the expressive grey paint job with red racing stripes, wide air intakes, and road-hugging 18-inch alloy wheels promise competitive performance. Other details include LED headlamps, a black grille frame, and a spoiler mounted at the hood. This special edition of the Mini Cooper is set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January, but for now, enjoy photos of the forthcoming car above.
