kielo; gives us a preview of its Spring/Summer 2014 collection with a new lookbook. The collection draws inspiration from 1920s Art Deco painter, Tamara de Lempicka and her tumultuous life. The collection in an imagining of both her younger brighter days as well as the depressive nostalgic state she reached in her later years. This sense of decay is captured in the collection’s choice of motifs that feature flowers, fruit and animals. Fabrics of choice include those used in classical pajamas as well as jacquards, while the garments themselves were based on workwear used by painters such as smocks and aprons. To see the full lookbook, check it out over at the kielo; website.
