Acne Studios Opens Los Angeles Store

Long considered to be the most beautiful of Los Angeles’ historic buildings – as well as the best surviving example of Art Deco architecture in the City of Angels – the glossy turquoise terra cotta of the Eastern Columbia Building, situated directly across the street from the renowned Orpheum Theatre, is now home to the latest retail endeavor from Acne Studios. The largest Acne store to date, the new downtown LA spot occupies more than 5,000 square feet of the Eastern Columbia Building’s ground floor and is home to both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, bags, accessories and footwear, and is also home to a café – its very own ilcaffè, a favorite of Creative Director Jonny Johansson’s in his hometown of Stockholm. The space even includes a dedicated area for private appointments, as well as an installation from Belgian artist and close friend Carsten Höller.
