Based on 12 of the most unusual notes left by its guests, hotel group The Standard hired multi-communications agency KesselsKramer to design its 2014 calendar. Examples include a television draped in a white sheet because one guest suggested their room’s TV was possessed, another shows a Dachshund puppy wrapped in a hotdog roll in reference to a guest’s proclamation that the staff were “the nicest pooch lovers in the world,” and an image of a skeleton in a hot tub comes from a man who believed his visit to the hot tub melted his prescription lenses. Shot by photographer Thomas Mailaender, the calendar images are a perfect representation of The Standard’s irreverent and playful sensibility. For those interested, it’ll be available in the brand’s online shop later this week.
