It appears that this year’s 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher edition is having its first highlight. Kendrick Lamar aims at Drake in his verse as part of the TDE Cypher lineup that also includes Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and newest signee Isaiah Rashad. K. Dot has apparently used his camera time to throw a diss at Drizzy. In recent weeks, Drake expressed his disappointment over the Compton MC’s verse on Big Sean’s “Control” record, questioning his motives. In response to this, Kendrick now seems to use Drake’s Nothing Was the Same album title for his his verbal shot over Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones Part II” instrumental.
“Yeah…and nothing’s been the same since they dropped “Control”/ And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his Pajama Clothes/ Ha-ha jokes on you, high-five…..I’m bulletproof/ Your sh*ts a never penetrate, pin the tail on the donkey boy you been a fake….”
The taping of the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards took place in Atlanta last weekend and will be aired on Tuesday, October 15 at 8 p.m. EST. In the meantime, catch Kendrick’s verse in the clip above.
