New York-based producer and mash-up mastermind, The Melker Project has decided to put together Fleetwood Mac-inspired mash-up project and today listeners can enjoy the first release titled “The (2)Chain(z).” Mashing together the Fleetwood classic “The Chain” with a few verses from 2 Chainz, you can quickly realize the title’s cleaver wordplay. The upcoming EP has been titled Skeetwood Mac, and is set to release next Monday, February 4. Going on to further explain EP and what inspired the project, The Melker Project went on to share:
Fleetwood Mac is one of the greatest bands ever. Producers rarely remix Fleetwood Mac. Why you ask? Most remixers and mashup artists focus solely on what is “hot” now – you know, pop songs and EDM “hits.” The Melker Project wanted to buck the trend and introduce mashup fans to some of the timeless classics that often go untouched in remix culture. You know, GOOD songs.
Skeetwood Mac is the first in a series of EPs being released by The Melker Project, each focusing on a different classic artist. As the name implies, this EP is comprised of five Fleetwood Mac songs, each mashed up with Hip Hop and R&B standards.
