Surface to Air releases a preview of its Fall/Winter 2013 men’s collection. The lookbook, not unlike the clothes themselves, is vibrant, contrasting and avant-garde. The design here is very technical, using opposing patterns and reflective materials to lend the clothes a future-grunge edge. Postmodern overtones run throughout and the collection seems to utilize underground cut & sew techniques for its shirts, jackets and trousers as evidenced in the washed-out denim, the bleached plaid sweatshirts, and the frayed edges of an unhemmed sleeve. Surface to Air’s unique aesthetic is sure to be seen on the streets once again in the season ahead.
