Although it’s been almost two years since his most recent solo album, Kanye West managed to remain one of the most talked about artists in the industry. BET seems to agree and sent out 17 nominations for the seventh annual BET Hip-Hop Awards to the G.O.O.D. Music general, who had a highly successful year as producer, performer, and director and collaborated with Jay-Z on the album, Watch the Throne. The BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony will be taped September 29 at Atlanta’s Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center and will be aired October 9. Chris Lighty, who committed suicide earlier this month, will be honored during the show. Mike Epps will return as host for the fourth straight year.
