The first product range for Carhartt Work in Progress was created in 1997, catering re-interpreted and re-cut American workwear garments exclusively to the European market. Combining the core Carhartt values of quality, durability and comfort, along with updates tailored for the urban lifestyle, Carhartt WIP became wildly popular with all walks of street culture – musicians, artists, clubbers, and hipsters included among them. Most recently, the Fall/Winter 2012 collection offered a range of outerwear, shirts, sweaters, T-shirts and bottoms suitable for both its traditional customers and a younger, more sartorial audience.
