Garrett Leight makes timeless eyewear updated for modern times with cutting-edge technology and premium materials. It was only fitting then, that his California-based company would partner with Mark McNairy — the post-trad designer of twisted classics — for a line of eyewear inspired by “inconspicuous weirdos, maniacs, creeps, and people that don’t give a damn.” Those fringe individuals, including the likes of Alan Ginsberg, Groucho Marx, and Charles Bukowski, provided the frame of reference for the three new eyewear styles. The trio of glasses will include two round frames and one elliptical style, constructed from metal and acetate in Japan and the USA, respectively. First previewed during McNairy’s recent Spring/Summer 2013 show at New York Fashion Week, the collection will release in October at select stockists including colette, Opening Ceremony, and Garrett Leight California Optical locations.
