The Man Behind the MF Doom Mask

Better known as KEO or SCOTCH 79, Brooklyn-born graffiti artist and MC Blake Lethem recently sat down with Frank151 to talk about his longstanding collaborative relationship with Daniel Dumile, aka DOOM. Having met in 1996, Lethem helped to create the well-known cover art from DOOM’s debut LP, Operation: Doomsday, before going on to create the artist’s signature mask. In this four-minute video, Lethem touches on his inseparable friendship with Dumile, his influence on the hip-hop world, and the evolution of DOOM’s signature mask from a customized Darth Maul costume to its current state.
