Coldplay are set to debut a six-part comic book series telling the story behind the group’s latest album Mylo Xyloto at San Diego’s Comic-Con this week. The British band have called in the services of Academy Award-nominated writer/director Mark Osborne to co-write the story with them and the project has been three years in the making. In a statement Osborne called the concept “the latest expression of a music-driven feature animated film that the band and I started developing several years ago.” The band added that, “Gradually Mylo’s story and universe came together, and this ended up providing the backdrop for the album and tour.” The band and Osborne will appear at Comic-Con on July 13 to discuss the project and present the first issue of the comic, with the following five issues set to be issued monthly from February 2013.
