Just over a year ago, one of the most powerful earthquakes ever recorded struck off the coast of Japan triggering a tsunami that swallowed everything in its path up along the eastern seaboard. As millions of displaced families and business owners return to their demolished communities, some are already there rebuilding and welcoming their neighbors with aiding arms. Case in point Stussy. The influential American streetwear label has a chapter store in the city of Sendai, which was very close to the epicenter of the earthquake leading to a long list of destruction, including the flooding of its popular airport. To show that they are still remaining a strong pillar of support during its reconstruction, Stussy aligned with internationally recognized content creation and distribution company, Frank151, for an exclusive World Tour T-shirt sporting the moniker “HOLDING IT DOWN.” All three colorways — black, heather and white — are currently available through the Stussy Sendai Chapter as well as the online retailer, BLACKSTORE.
