Kreayshawn on working with Diplo and her new album

After touring around the United States and Europe to promote her YouTube hit “Gucci Gucci,” Kreayshawn has been laying low to put the final touches of her debut LP, titled Something ‘Bout Kreay. She sat down with Pitchfork at SXSW to discuss the upcoming album: “Right now I’m just thinking of album art,” going on to say that it’ll definitely be a “rap album.” With producer credits from the likes of Two Stacks, Boyz Noize and Diplo, speaking on her track with the Floridian genre-ambiguos producer, “It’s a song about booty popping and twerking. I know Diplo knows a lot about underground music culture– he was one of the people to put me onto music like that when I used to listen to the Mad Decent Mixes. It was like, ‘Oh, he knows what I want.’”
