Baselworld 2012 is still nearly a full month away, but already the slow-trickle of early unveilings has begun. Tissot is introducing the Heritage PR516 — an automatic throwback piece featuring the same dial markings as the iconic and much-loved Seastar PR 516 GL from the late 1960s. The 40mm case will have a unique sapphire case backing, segmented by three prongs resembling the steering wheel on a vintage roadster. It is expected to be available in stainless steel, as well as a PVD gold version boasting a leather racing strap like the original or the pictured steel bracelet option. With confirmation on the specific movement and band options still weeks away, pricing can only be speculated to be between $500 and $1,000 USD.
