Essentials: Jowee Alviar

For Team Manila co-founder Jowee Alviar, the fairly broad sweeping term “design studio” provides an opportunity to capitalize on an extensive range of creative projects as well as work alongside a wide range of likeminded individuals. Based in the Philippines, the multi-disciplinary creative collective that he co-founded in 2001 with Mon Punzalan has established a reputation for minting some of the best and most innovative projects across a variety of mediums including print, web and film. On a personal level, Alviar’s essentials embody much of the designer, blogger and photographer’s personal interests that take shape in his affinity for Lomography, Typography Ephemera and entrenching himself into the Philippines’ culture and heritage. Aside from overseeing Team Manila, Alviar also operates Daily Grind – the studio’s brother streetwear brand and lifestyle blog.
