Moncler Gamme Bleu is a collaborative effort between Ski-wear pioneers Moncler and American designer Thom Browne. The range is one of contrasts, which sees the classic tailoring Browne has made his name with combined with modern, sportswear and heritage fabrics mixed with cutting edge, performance materials. For Spring/Summer 2012, Thom Browne draws influence from sports – specifically the tennis and fencing – to produce a collection that seamlessly blends vintage sportswear, functional outerwear and sartorial staples. This diverse collection ranges from reworkings of vintage ’60s tennis polos through to full suits, encompassing some truly exceptional knitwear and jackets on the way. As with previous Gamme Bleu seasons, Spring/Summer 2012 is a celebration of both collaborators – as Moncler themselves put it – ‘creating a new set of rules’ in the design of every piece, with the innovative use of fabrics and detailing elevating classic silhouettes such as the three button blazer and military field jacket. Select items from the line are now available through End Clothing.
