Although Bon Iver took home several Grammys at this year’s ceremony back in February, the band’s frontman Justin Vernon has gone on to voice his previously expressed negative feelings toward award show. Following a string of tweets from Grizzly Bear‘s Ed Droste, who felt snubbed at yesterday’s Grammy nominations, Iver reached out through the social media network with some words of encouragement. You can check out how the full situation as it unfolded through the tweets down below.
2k12 has been a mixed vibe

We won’t win the Grahmees! :(
— Edward Droste (@edwarddroste) December 6, 2012
So the Grammies are literally based off sales and nothing else? #bummerzone

Don’t know how you managed to infiltrate @blobtower , what’s the secret?
— Edward Droste (@edwarddroste) December 6, 2012
Justin Vernon, using his Blobtower Twitter handle then replied in confusion, to which the two musicians then carried on the following conversation:
@blobtower or maybe we gotta make better music :/ point is a year ago I was so excited you were nominated, and nobody from “our world” :(
— Edward Droste (@edwarddroste) December 6, 2012
@edwarddroste this is why i hate the grammies. because it allows you to question what you’ve done. don’t question what you’ve done Ed.
— Jdev (@blobtower) December 6, 2012
@edwarddroste y’alls music is pure as fuck and there is nobody making music like you and i think it’s truly unique. the grammies aren’t
— Jdev (@blobtower) December 6, 2012
@edwarddroste a measure of much that is calculable or quantifiable by our own contexts for music.why you create is most important.
— Jdev (@blobtower) December 6, 2012
@edwarddroste All this being said, FUCK those morons for not knowing enough about GB #jordongotcutfromhighschoolbasketball
— Jdev (@blobtower) December 6, 2012
@blobtower thanks boo! Not really questioning what we’ve done , definitely questioning other things tho.
— Edward Droste (@edwarddroste) December 6, 2012
Droste would later go on to express that his initial tweets were of a playful manner, but clearly Vernon’s words were most sincere. Do you share similar feelings? Feel any other artists were snubbed at this year’s Grammys? Let us know your thoughts down below.
