Middles, Centers, Spiders, & Inserts: 45 Adapters from the Collection of Jules Gayton catalogs the seminal downtown New York City disc jockey’s personal collection of the endangered and once commonplace artifacts that came to prominence during the heyday of the jukebox and the 45 rpm single. Middles, Centers, Spiders, & Inserts was printed in a limited edition of 1000 and features a foreword written by DJ and music academic Carter Van Pelt of Columbia University’s WKCR radio station. The 50-page book contains photographs of some of Gayton’s most-prized adapters and a personal essay written by the DJ that details the genesis of his love affair with vinyl. The book can be purchased via Miss Lilly’s for $20 USD.
