A Closer Look into the Nike Lunar Force 1

In light of the 30th anniversary of Nike‘s classic Air Force 1 model, the brand seeks to celebrate its past by borrowing from its present. The result is the Nike Lunar Force 1, a marriage of the classic silhouette with new sports technology the brand has innovated over the past couple of years. Close observers of the sneaker will notice an immediate difference in weight and cushioning, provided by the Lunarlon outsole. Use of the lightweight Lunarlon allows the outsole to be slimmed from 7mm to 5mm. The sneaker also makes use of Hyperfuse technology throughout the upper – a technique Nike first applied to their basketball line, which fuses three layers of composite material into one breathable knit layer that ensures superior comfort. All of these innovations were then incorporated into a new silhouette, which integrates form with function rather beautifully. The Lunar Force 1 is completed by detailing around the insole and heel counter, both of which nod to the shoe’s 30 years of sport heritage.
