Nike Cuts Ties with Lance Armstrong

After standing by Lance Armstrong’s side amidst countless doping allegations, further accusations have led Nike to cut all ties with the cyclist. Armstrong announced today that he would also be stepping down as chairman of his LIVESTRONG charity, although Nike has said they will continue to be supporters of the humanitarian project. As part of their official statement Nike commented, “Due to the seemingly insurmountable evidence that Lance Armstrong participated in doping and misled Nike for more than a decade, it is with great sadness that we have terminated our contract with him. Nike does not condone the use of illegal performance-enhancing drugs in any manner.”
